Footwear Company Crocs Plans to Enter the NFT Market
Footwear manufacturer Crocs has applied for a trademark in the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) segment. According to the document:
“The trademark is intended to cover the categories of downloadable digital media namely, digital assets, digital collectibles, digital tokens and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).”
The application has been filed on the basis of “intent to use,” which indicates the trademark plans to use the trademark for commercial purposes.
The registration also includes downloadable computer software to create, manage, store, send, receive, exchange, validate and sell NFTs.
In December 2021, Adidas earned $23.5 million from the sale of non-fungible tokens in collaboration with the Bored Ape Yacht Club, GMoney and PunksComic projects.
Nike has previously acquired NFTs studio RTFKT, which specializes in creating metaverse collectibles.
