Study: Nearly 60% of Consumers Want to Use Cryptocurrencies to Buy Things
Online financial services platform PYMNTS.com and Bitcoin service provider BitPay have conducted a survey of more than 8,000 US consumers asking their opinion on the use of cryptos as a means of payment.
According to its results, almost 60% of respondents are interested in buying goods and services with Bitcoin, Ethereum or other assets on a regular basis.
In particular, 75% of crypto owners have acquired them to carry out transactions, not as an investment.
According to the study, users are mainly interested in cryptos because they offer greater privacy and security than credit cards when making purchases.
In addition, the study also found that users who are not knowledgeable about cryptocurrencies are interested in learning about cryptocurrencies. In particular, 75% admitted that they have not purchased cryptocurrencies yet because of “not knowing enough about cryptocurrencies, how to obtain them or their tax implications”.
